BBC Bitesize: English Skills Film
Bringing classroom ideas to life through characterful animation
How to Create a Setting
We collaborated with Alt Animation to bring this BBC Bitesize learning resource to life, a short, lively explainer that helps students understand how writers build a sense of place.
Our role focused on crafting clear, characterful motion design that breaks the concept down visually: showing how mood, location, detail and atmosphere all work together to form a compelling setting. The film uses simple, bold shapes and warm, welcoming animation to guide learners through the process step by step.
How to Create a Poster
This second film explores the fundamentals of poster design, message, audience, layout, colour and imagery, all brought together in an upbeat, easy-to-grasp animated format.
Working with Alt Animation, we helped turn a practical classroom task into a bright, engaging learning experience. Every scene is designed to feel accessible and fun, giving students the confidence to create something of their own.

Why BBC Bitesize chose animation
These two films are a great example of how motion design can make educational content clearer, more memorable and more enjoyable. By using storytelling, pacing and simple visual metaphors, the films help learners absorb ideas quickly and apply them straight away.
