UK Home Office
Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

The Little Wild Ones worked with FCB Inferno on a series of animated films supporting the UK Home Office Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) rollout. The project formed part of a wider public information campaign designed to help audiences understand the new digital travel authorisation process through clear, accessible animation.

Designed for broad public-facing audiences across digital and social platforms, the films needed to balance clarity, accessibility and trust while simplifying detailed process-led information into easy-to-follow visual communication.

The Challenge

The project required complex process information to be translated into concise and understandable animation suitable for audiences with varying levels of digital confidence and familiarity with the new system.

As the films evolved throughout production, messaging, pacing and sequencing were refined collaboratively to ensure the content remained clear, approachable and easy to follow across multiple formats and platforms.

The Approach

Illustrations and visual assets for the project were supplied by the client team, with The Little Wild Ones responsible for animation production, motion development, subtitle integration and the delivery of versioned outputs across multiple digital formats.

Working collaboratively throughout production, The Little Wild Ones helped shape the pacing, structure and communication flow of the films, ensuring narration, on-screen information and animation worked together clearly and consistently. Animation and motion design were used to reinforce key information visually, helping guide audiences through the content in a calm and structured way.

Accessibility & Delivery

Accessibility formed an important part of the production process, including the integration of subtitles and consideration of readability across different screen sizes and viewing environments.

The project included the delivery of multiple versioned outputs, including 16:9, 9:16 and square formats, alongside shorter cutdown edits for different digital and social media applications. Each version was reviewed independently to ensure pacing, layout and subtitle readability remained effective within the intended format.

Outcome

The final animations formed part of a wider suite of public-facing communication assets supporting the rollout of the ETA system across digital platforms.

The project demonstrates The Little Wild Ones’ experience in translating complex public sector information into clear and accessible visual storytelling across multiple formats and audience contexts.
